+Nikolai Volescu has the look of a man carved out of shadow and old bloodlines. He is dark-haired and pale-skinned, with a neatly kept beard that sharpens rather than softens his face. His features are handsome, but severe: deep-set eyes, a guarded mouth, and the faint, weary tension of someone who has seen too much and learned not to explain himself. Short, ridged horns rise from his brow, not decorative or flamboyant, but natural and unsettling, as if his infernal heritage has chosen restraint over spectacle. His pointed ears are partly hidden by black hair, adding to the sense that he is not entirely human and has never had the luxury of pretending otherwise.
+He wears the hood of a scholar. The outer wool was dark charcoal, brushed smooth but still visibly cut from some ruined winter cloak. Here and there, age showed in the nap of the fabric, not as weakness but as memory. The lining was faded blue, deep in the folds where light had not reached it and paler along the edges. Around the outer border ran cream linen trim, carefully shaped to imitate fur from a distance, though up close it was plainly humble cloth, folded and stitched with tiny patient seams.
